Wedding Gone Wrong #9 Mary’s Story

It’s time for another Wedding Gone Wrong Wednesday!

Your wedding day only comes once. You work hard to make sure that everything from the colors to the dresses to the food to the music are perfect. The day arrives and everything is just as you hoped it would be. You want each moment to last forever so you make sure to hire a photographer who can do just that. You want to be able to look back at your wedding album or art book and take the whole day in all over again.

You thought it was best to cut cost when it came to your photographer  you hire a friend or family member who’s a pretty awesome photographer but maybe not the best wedding photographer…

Here is Mary’s story:

My brother is a photographer and is quite good. But he’s not a wedding photographer. My other brother, who walked me down the aisle, got between and behind me and my groom in the wedding party shot. It looks ridiculous. The photographer should have spotted it and organized everyone. A lot of shots are blurry and he tried more “candids” than anything else. The group pictures are atrocious, some people covering others, half smiles, blinking, etc. Nothing of me throwing the bouquet, maybe a far away shot where you can’t even tell what’s happening. Not to mention the fact that when you ask a relative to photograph your wedding, they are distracted by family and friends and would rather be a part of that. He gave me 4×6 prints with negatives and that was it. Never, NEVER, try to cut costs on the photographer. Cut it somewhere else. The photographs of your wedding are essential and you’ll be so glad you made the investment.
